Teen Obesity Causes
Teen obesity is one of the growing problems faced by people not only in India but all over the world. If teenagers are going to be obese then it means it is result of some of the problems. The problems can be anyone as it can either be environmental issues or can be result of genetic factors. Rather teenagers have a severe obesity or there is mild obesity but this is just because a person is consuming more calories as compared to calories he/she burns. If the calorie surplus is large then it reshapes in obesity.
As the number is increasing very rapidly. So, the many parents and doctors are looked concerened to the condition. The number of obese children in world is very high so, it becomes a issue which should be concerned. About 17% to 33% teenagers are now found obese. Lack of Physical Activity - One of the most common and well known cause of teenage obesity is known as lack of physical activity. As before children used to play out door games such as football, cricket, kho-kho and hockey and in place of that children are going to play video games. They like to spend most of their time in front of either television or before PC. They have now glued to DVDs and thus devote very less time to outdoor games. Also, now elevators and lifts has taken the place of stairs. Thus, as a result you have burned very less calories. We have to tell the child to watch the TV for just 2 hours a day and devote their maximum time to outdoor games which will give way to burning of more calories.
Wrong Eating Habits - Maximum children have habits of poor eating. Now a days most of the ladies are working and has very less time to prepare food. As a result, children used to eat junk or fast food as firstly, it takes very less time to cook and secondly, it is tasty too. Ladies who have no time to plan healthful meals can do one thing as they have to took help of their children in kitchen as it will become fun for them also they will be known to the nutritional benefits of the particular food.
Emotional Eating - Most of the time when children feel low or nothing to do, they do wrong thing as they spend their time in eating foods. Also, by this they lose their ability to regulate the hunger. We should do one thing whenever the child feels bored or low. Ask him to go for a walk as it will not only make him to burn calories but also provide him fresh air to breath.
Lack of Exercises - Most of the kids don’t practice exercises daily. They even use scooters and bikes in place of cycle which is very important to burn calories. So, inspire them to use cycle and tell to do exercises.
